Fire effect

STEP 1: File --> New (width: 1100, height:780, resolution: 72) -->OK
STEP 2: Press D(from keyboard) for default colors --> double click on background layer, give name "black" --> OK (with tis background layer also gets unlocked) --> alt+backspace to fill foreground color now with the help of type horizontal tool type "FIRE" in white color --> place the text at the bottom center of the canvas, like in picture below.

STEP 3: press ctrl+E to merge layers --> now we want to give the effect of flames and that can be done by using wind in filter option but in filter option the direction of the wind can be applied to the right or left direction and not on the top or bottom direction. In my tutorial I want to give flames on top of the text. for this i have to rotate my canvas. for this click on Image --> rotate canvas --> 90o CCW

STEP 4: now open on filter menu --> stylize --> wind --> click OK without changing anything --> press ctrl+F (to repeat same filter) twice or thrice, till you get something like in the picture below

STEP 5: image --> rotate canvas --> 90 o CW --> now the flames are coming in a very straight manner. we want to apply wavy or zig zag on flames. for this open filter --> liquify or press ctrl+shift+X. another window is opend where u can give nice effect to flames. click on forward wrapped tool(which is by default selected)
-->set these tool options

now drag your brush over flames in a wavy way.

STEP 6: filter --> blur --> gaussian blur --> give radius 2.0 (approx.) --> OK --> right click on "black" layer --> duplicate layer --> now "black copy" layer should be selected --> click on Image --> adjustments --> hue/saturation --> click on the checkbox of colorize so that u can preveiw ur settings --> hue: 40, saturation: 100 --> OK.

we have applied yellow color to the fire. now i want to give bit red color to its flames. for this select the "black" layer(which is below the "black copy" layer) --> turn off the visibility of "black copy" layer by clicking on the eye of the layer. with this u can view ur settings

click on Image --> adjustments --> hue/saturation --> click on the checkbox of colorize--> hue: 14, saturation: 100 --> OK. select "screen" from blending mode u can play or try any option in blending mode
